FoundCare (also known as Foundations Care in Australia) is a well‑established not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing nurturing out‑of‑home care for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth families. Over more than two decades, it has supported over 300 children, youth, and their families across Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia. Their services include foster care (short‑, medium‑, long‑term and respite), kinship care, residential group care, and youth justice support.
Central to their mission is the strong belief in cultural connection and inclusion. They carefully match children with carers who share or respect their cultural and community ties—especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children—to ensure placements are safe, culturally appropriate, and respectful of identity and community belonging. FoundCare actively partners with government agencies, researchers, community leaders, corporations, and other not‑for‑profit organizations to elevate outcomes for children and families. This collaborative model has delivered improved client outcomes and adaptive, evidence‑based strategies across the organisation’s footprint.
